“Délicieuse et surprenante langue française… Pourquoi parle-t-on des quatre coins de la Terre, alors qu’elle est ronde? Quand un homme se meurt, on dit qu’il s’éteint; Quand il est mort, on l’appelle « feu » ?! Pourquoi appelle-t-on « coup de grâce » le coup qui tue ? Pourquoi dit-on d’un pauvre malheureux, ruiné et qui n’a même plus un lit dans lequel se coucher, qu’il est dans de beaux draps ? On passe souvent des nuits blanches quand on a des idées noires.

This is the best group of people to meet in Milton Keynes. I and my wife Sônia Pinto found them just after arrived in the city in August of 2016. Since there we have been building a strong friendship that takes place all year round until August of 2017 when we left the UK. Now we are back home in Brazil, but always in touch and preparing to be back and meet Marie Da Silva and all friends next January. I think this a friendship to carry on the entire life.

I’m glad that I tried to join this group. I’m even happier in this group. I can find great people who are very helpful and understanding. It helps me a lot to improve my English language and practice . The group is very entertaining because Marie (and helpers) organise different events for example Sunday’s walk, National food culture evening etc.. I joined the group in March this year. I’m having a wonderful and unforgettable time. This group is absolutely recommendable. Marie is a professional host. She welcomes each new participant personally and looks after the group that we get the feeling to belongs together. She plans a lot of other activities which can be joined easily. I met lovely and friendly people from different cultures and countries. Meanwile I’m having really lovely friendship with a few of them. The International group on Friday is the best group to improve the English language because native speakers attend as well. I have to go back to Germany and will definitely miss this group and the friends.

I just moved to MK and I was looking for a French class, as I dream about moving to South France in the next few years. I have been studying French before, and I kinda understand it but I needed to practice conversation. I found on Meetup the group “Lingo Mix”, and what I found was much more than a simple French class! First of all Marie is adorable and it’s very easy to speak with her. She is mother tongue French and she speaks clear so that the student can understand. Also she encourage everyone to express their opinion, and this allows me to make an effort to elaborate in French. In addition, Marie is a very active organizer of collateral events that allows people to practice different languages in a fun and interesting way, like night at the pub, dinners and table games. I believe that this is the best way to learn a language! Thank you Marie for your work!
