Our lockdown experience

What will be our experience of our world this year? Will we be content to stay in our borough or just go out to exercise once a day? What can we do to widen our horizons again? To interact with other cultures and places from around the globe. Perhaps we need to spend time seeing travel TV programmes.. then writing down what we value most of our own culture, at its deepest level and what appeals most to us from the other culture. Let us all learn to be travel writers in this time of lockdown !

Feel free to tell me about your lockdown experiences? New activities, challenges ( homeschooling…)? Everyone has to face this pandemic situation the best we can.

Film experiences from world cinema!

Why not google “watch night” and see the ways tech allow us? Even in lockdown, we can still “go to the movies!” Sharing foreign film watching together with others online, is a way to keep cinema alive. You can be amazed, share in-jokes and maybe even shed a tear after watching movies together.

Did you know that most countries have a film industry and you are sure to find some real gems? Like the French diner de cons or untouchables. So don’t miss these chances to share the movie experience with friends old or new.

Language Classes or Private Language Lessons?

A potential client ask me why the prices are so expensive, while students can take for example the IELTS exams at a cheaper price?

You can’t compare private tuition to classical language classes OR exams, tests like IELTS….

They are all different processes, with different learning methods, different purposes.

There is no set or standard rule regarding which are better, language classes or private language lessons. For some students, a private lesson may be better, and for other students a group setting may work. It also depends on what is being taught, what the students are expected to do, and if the student actually wants to learn: https://www.rypeapp.com/blog/language-classes-or-language-lessons/

PRIVATE TUITION

Private tuition is more for people motivated to learn, improve their language with a more customized language learning method. The teacher can adapt the courses for each student. In language classes you have a method for everyone , and you need to stick with it. Some people need / prefer personalization of their courses, as they have their preferred learning method ( visual, hearing, music, conversation…)They need a customized learning approach to improve the language faster, better.

It is good sometimes to try both: a few clients who took language classes first can decide afterwards to switch to a private tuition for different reasons.

Whatever the option you choose, learning a language can be a FUN experience and be very useful ( travel, job…) So let’s learn languages .

A few French Christmas traditions

Hello
Bonjour
Just a few French Christmas traditions I miss

Papillottes
Delicious traditional sweets with French festive flair!
The history of the Papillote:
Papillotes were invented in Lyon last century by a confectioner named Papillot, who made chocolates and sweets in his shop in Lyon
When he discovered that his young apprentice was sending stolen sweets wrapped in love letters to his sweetheart, Papillot was far from angry. He thought it an excellent idea, and so he began making his now-famous Papillotes de Lyon.
Made from candied fruit and chocolate, and wrapped in their traditional gold and coloured paper, these lovely Christmas sweets are guaranteed to add a little French festive flair to your Christmas table!
…..

Bûche de Noel, (Yule log), is one of the oldest French Christmas traditions. It dates back to Celtic times before Christmas in France was celebrated.
Today it is one of the French Christmas desserts served at the Réveillon, the French Christmas feast.
And don’t look at the English chocolate logs. They don’t taste nothing like the French one.
They are just an imitation, like the Chocolate éclairs…
You need to try the French ones❤️
